What is the ‘Who’? 


The who refers is about the communities we want to work with + activate. There are lots of renters in the borough! If we want to win against landlords, the council and the government, we need to show that we’re uniting a wide range of different renters. That means being intentional about who we’re trying to reach.


 Some examples include: the brazilian/ portuguese speaking community, people in blocks, people in temporary accom, food banks, students, congolese community, nhs workers, mosques, churches etc


The who in Lewisham: we narrowed down 5 groups/ communities that we thought would be a good start for our ‘Who’:


  1. Portuguese + brazilian community - large in Lewisham, especially catford and many Milford towers resident know people in it or are part of it themselves

  1. Community centres: a great place to meet people from all areas of the community in one space

  2. Blocks/ social housing like milford towers, eros house, rosendale: a lot of people live in blocks so there’s many people we can reach in one area. Aswell as milford towers residents know people on other block

  1. Disabled Community in deptford called hot + soul: similar to community centres, it’s a space to meets disabled renters across the borough who can organise against inaccessible housing

Food Banks: a needed space in the community people already use for support. People accessing food banks may also be faci
